I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing therapy for adolescents, young adults, couples and families and assisting them in reaching their personal and relational goals.
Treatment Orientation/Approach to Therapy
I approach my work with clients by first providing a safe place to express your most intimate feelings and thoughts without fear or concern of judgment. I am adept at meeting clients where they are and joining them in the process of exploring and implementing the changes they want and need to make in order to pursue their present day and lifelong goals. I utilize a variety of therapy models and techniques including Structural Family Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Experiential Therapy, and Narrative Therapy in order to support individuals, couples, and families as they improve and enhance their overall function in life and relationships.
Particular Areas of Interest
My expertise is working with couples and families to improve the quality of their interactions and relationships and with individuals as they make meaningful changes that maximize their strengths while becoming the person they want to be. My clinical special interests include:
- Adolescent and Young Adult Self-Esteem
- Dating and Relationship Development
- Premarital Counseling
- Communication Issues
- Relationship Skill Building
- Transitioning to Parenthood
- Parenting Adolescents
- Blended Family Issues
As an ordained minister, I also infuse faith-based/spiritually sensitive insights, particularly at the client’s request.
I have several years of experience working with children, adolescents and their families in a variety of settings. I worked as an individual, family, and group therapist for children and adolescents in serious mental health crises. I had the pleasure of collaborating with a team of clinicians that included other therapists, art therapists, and psychiatrists to provide quality mental health services to children and their families. I simultaneously worked as a therapist with a private practice in Largo, providing individual, couple and family therapy.
