How do I know if I/we need therapy?
If you are feeling stuck or overwhelmed by life and/or relational challenges, therapy provides a safe place to explore and address your concerns and make changes that can lead to contentment and more fulfilling life.
How long does therapy/counseling last?
Therapy is a personal and unique experience for each person and couple, so there is no rule of thumb regarding the number of sessions. Weekly or biweekly sessions are typical over the course of three to six months. You may need less or more time depending upon the specific issues to be addressed and who is involved in the treatment process. Together we will work toward your goals and determine when you have gained the benefits of therapy. My desire is to help you improve the quality of your life so you can say with confidence that therapy was beneficial and you can now thrive and live well on your own.
The office is lap-baby and nursing mother-friendly. Please arrange for childcare during your appointment for children over 2.
How much does therapy cost?
Your Life’s Well offers standard sessions for 50 minutes and extended sessions for 90 minutes. The investment for a 50-minute session is $150 and the investment for a 90-minute session is $220.
** The initial session for all clients is 90 minutes in length. Going forward, your session length is up to you and depends upon scheduling availability.
Payment in full is expected at the end of each therapy session. Your Life’s Well accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Health Spending Accounts (HSA), Cash App, and PayPal.
Do you accept insurance?
Your Life’s Well does not bill insurance directly for several reasons:
- Using your insurance would require that you receive a Mental Disorder Diagnosis (Anxiety Disorder or Major Depressive Disorder for example).
- Every few weeks, the insurance company would require a treatment summary that outlines any progress toward stated treatment goals.
- Several representatives from/affiliated with the insurance provider would then review your file and determine the allowed number of sessions and if they will continue to pay for us to work together.
- This process compromises your privacy. In this practice, your files are secured in a HIPAA compliant cloud-based portal and only made available to others with your written request and consent.
Your Life’s Well is happy to provide you with a statement of paid services, which can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. It is recommended that clients contact their insurance provider to explore this option, prior to scheduling their first session.
If you decide that using your insurance is the right decision for you, you can do a search on Psychology Today, scroll down the therapist’s profile to where it says Accepted Insurance Plans and see if your insurance provider is listed. You can also call the number for mental health services on the back of your insurance card and request a list of therapists in your area that accept your plan.
Where is your office located?
Your Life’s Well is located in Bowie, Maryland in the Town Center Office Park. The address is 4329 Northview Drive Bowie, MD 20716. When you arrive, please enter the office and have a seat in the waiting room and I will come to greet you there at your scheduled appointment time. What is the cancellation policy?
Clients are required to notify their therapist, either by phone call, or email, at least 24 hours in advance of a missed session. If less than 24 hours of notification is given, you will be charged for the full scheduled session. This policy applies even if the client arrives late or leaves the session early.
